Iranian translator rendering Avicenna’s couplets into English

TEHRAN, July 20 (MNA) -- Iranian translator Saeid Saeidpur is working on an English version of Avicenna’s couplets.

The book contains 30 couplets and an essay which was written by this Iranian philosopher, Saeidpur told ISNA.

These couplets are attributed to Avicenna but some literati believe that they were composed by other poets like Khayyam, he added.

Abu Ali Sina (c. 980 - 1037), commonly known in English by his Latinized name Avicenna, was a Persian polymath and the foremost physician and philosopher of his time.

He was also an astronomer, chemist, geologist, logician, paleontologist, mathematician, physicist, poet, psychologist, scientist and teacher.
